Quality Controller / Quality Assurance – Food Manufacturing
Location: Milton Keynes
Shift: Monday–Friday PM (3pm-12am/4pm-1am)
We are recruiting for a Quality Controller / Quality Assurance Technician to join a busy food manufacturing / FMCG site in Milton Keynes. This role is ideal for someone with experience in food safety, HACCP, and quality assurance who enjoys working on the factory floor in a hands-on role.
Role Overview
As a Quality Controller, you will carry out continuous lineside quality checks, ensuring products meet food safety, quality and legal standards. You will support a right-first-time, preventative approach, working closely with production teams and the Technical Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lineside quality control and food safety monitoring
- Product quality audits and food safety audits
- Recording results and implementing corrective actions
- Auditing production and batch paperwork for accuracy and completion
- Product sampling, seal integrity checks and label verification
- Daily HACCP / CCP checks
- Participation in taste panels and shelf-life assessments
- Managing quality incidents (glass, brittle plastic, metal detection)
- Supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Daily hygiene audits and hygiene schedule compliance
- Glass and brittle material audits
- Communicating quality and food safety issues to production teams
- Supporting site Health, Safety & Environment standards
- Promoting a strong food safety culture across the factory
You will report to the Technical Manager and work alongside Team Leaders and the wider Quality team.
Skills & Experience Required
- Experience in food manufacturing, FMCG, or fresh food production
- Background in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Food Safety
- Strong communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced production environment
- Good problem-solving and time management skills
- HACCP Level 2 (desirable)
- Food Safety Level 2 (desirable)
